Tumblr wants to take away all adult content on the platform, abandoning a large majority of it’s userbase which uses the site for this exact matter. Please sign the above petition if you would like to keep tumblr the way it is. They need to be shown that they will lose a HUGE amount of their traffic if they’re too carry this through.

Honestly the Artemis Fowl movie was doomed the second they decided on live action instead of animation. I mean, pretty illustrations would have been on thin fucking ice as it is, but there’s no way a Mulch Diggums even approaching canon levels of weird OP-ness can be anything but nightmare fuel when portrayed in full uncanny augmented photo realism. Is anyone ever ready to see a tiny man unhinge his entire fucking jaw? Dig by chomping like fucking pacman? Shit the dirt back out again for propulsion? Climb buildings with dehydrated dwarf pores the size of pin heads? I think the fuck n o t.

One of the specific reasons why I got my porn on Tumblr and not elsewhere is that I could take a look at a blog and see if they were posting images of themselves or just randomly curated images from various places. 

As in I deliberately chose to support porn that was being made by free will, not porn where I couldn’t tell if the person in it was happy to make it or not. 

So… Tumblr banning porn just makes that stuff harder to find. It makes it harder for sex workers to do their jobs which makes it harder for them to have access to the resources and safety they need, which makes them more likely to face violence. 

You might not care about sex workers as much as you think you do if you’re not willing to let them have safe places to work. 

Also, mainstream performers have said repeatedly how rigorous the contracts and background checks are at the major studios. People are so blinded by “sex is bad. They shouldn’t be doing this. Blah blah blah.” When One of the biggest complaints I’ve heard was pay. How they aren’t paid accordingly for the hours they work, a lot of them have to fight for benefits, and also the stigma from society on what they do makes it difficult for them to live their daily lives. 

ALSO, pay and benefits issues is not exclusive to sex work. Literally there’s problems in every labor industry (child care, food service, etc) but because porn is sex more people feel like they have to “advocate for the victims”  when in truth they aren’t listening to the performers concerns. They’re just projecting their puritanism onto these individuals. 

ALLSSSOO, I always find it interesting that the ONE industry where marginalized people can make more money than the majority is consistently demonized to the point of ostracization.

This is an excellent addition thank you. It’s almost as if, if you care about sex workers you could try, oh I don’t know, actually listening to them.

Second, this means any poor person with a phone and the new Burger King app can literally get food for a penny just by going to McDonalds, which is probably a goddamn lifesaver if you’re regularly worried about where your next meal is coming from
