heads up before you spend $$ on pillowfort, especially note the paypal thing. the io domain concern does not seem carefully enforced but is in the TOS so 🤷

I did a little digging earlier and managed to find out:

  • Pillowfort is run by one person
    • (not 100% sure on this, but all evidence points to there being no other employees besides the website “founder”)
  • As such, there is no office, or “staff”
    • The address the company is listed at doesn’t actually have an office there (and is, conveniently, home to some 2000 companies)
  • it has already had not one but two successful, completed crowdfunding campaigns
    • the fact that they already had a successful indiegogo campaign isn’t mentioned on their kickstarter page, by the way
  • has been in beta for 2+ years

Hey! Please don’t get scared by this, maybe it’s just my Tumblr app that is not working, but like I get notifications when you post something and I click on them but I can’t see them in your blog, but I CAN see them in my dashboard. I don’t know why that’s happening? I just want to make sure you know this is happening. Again, maybe it’s just my app the one that’s not working, so don’t get too worried please!

A friend on discord just told me the same thing! I can’t add hyperlinks here on mobile but this post explains ithttps://billie-lourd(dot)tumblr(dot)com/post/180817411559/im-sure-everyone-is-starting-to-become-aware-ofJust replace the (dot) with actual dots to access it. It seems like it’s happening to a lot of blogs.I’ll do the whole exporting thing so that my content will be safe and we’ll see how this mess goes. Oh and do NOT forget the protest: please sign off and do not use tumblr for the entirety of the 17th (the day staff will implement the changes)I’ll do my best to let you all know of any other news. Love y’all! :*
